Larger Antique Hotel Alexandria Silver Food Service Dome, with plenty of patina, history and wear, befitting a piece of Los Angeles hotel history. The famed Hotel Alexandria was designed by architect John B. Parkinson and opened on February 12, 1906 as an 8-story luxury hotel at the corner of Spring and 5th Streets in downtown Los Angeles. The hotel's gold leaf ceilings, furniture, chandeliers and ballroom were the peak of chic in the early 1900's.

This dome has a lovely art nouveau shape, and the handle has beautiful ornate detail.  The logo on the front has worn off over the years, or was removed when the hotel switched to newer silver pieces in the later 1900's. There is some wear to the silver plating, and lots of marks befitting a dome that was used on the daily and saw heavy use. Marked inside Reed Barton Alexandria. Please only buy this if you love perfectly imperfect pieces with history, plenty of usage patina and the grace of time.

  • Measures 11-7/8" x 8" x 7-1/2"h.
