Beautiful fine quality Antique Blue and White Transfer Printed Tea Bowl, sold by Shreve, Crump & Low of Boston. One of the oldest jewelry stores in North America, opened by John McFarlane, who started his workshop across the street from Paul Revere. In 1869 the firm was merged and became Shreve, Crump and Low. They are renowned for selling only the very best. This was cared for by a collector.
This decorative small bowl has a peaceful scene on both sides of a young man and woman sitting with two sheep, he plays the flute, in the background is a country cottage. Inside, a deep floral rim with roses and other flowers surround the center decoration of that same cottage. The rim has a copper luster finish, there is some wear to this as is to be expected. A delight for your blue and white collection. Unmarked, retains the original Shreve.
