Exceptionally charming Antique English Blue and White Transfer Plate with a scene of the Scottish Highlands in the center. The border is unusual for transfer printed pottery of this age, this plate was made by Cauldon of England in the late 1800's, very early 1900.
In the center, three figures and two dogs are walking by a river, overlooking a bridge and castle. One of the figures is wearing the traditional Scottish kilt. Thistles surround the center design for an added touch of delight. Marked on the reverse Cauldon England, Breadalbane. There is aging on the back as shown, and a tight hairline that does not go through. A sterling and very decorative addition to your collection!
