Fine quality large Flow Blue Scenic Platter, made by Burgess & Leigh at the Middleport Pottery Works, England, in the late 1800's. One of the most collectable patterns the pottery produced, this design is less common than most of the other variations. The rich deep cobalt blue color compliments the design Non Pareil beautifully. Exceptional condition, this was kept very carefully by a collector of the best.
The charming center scene has mountains with a castle on the hill, and a lady and gentleman in the foreground. The scalloped wide rim has flowers and scroll designs, and small inset cameos of other scenic views. Display this on a wall, your French buffet, or use it to serve at your prettiest tables. It is marked on the back with the elaborate Burgess & Leigh mark under the glaze.
