Stunning Antique Majolica Water Lily Pitcher, this one is especially rare because of the soft colors and aqua handle. Beautifully detailed water lilies decorate this pitcher in shades of pale turquoise, yellow and pink. Made in 1880 by Samuel Lear, of Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, England. Opened in 1877, his pottery works closed in 1886.
The rounded body features a pond design featuring water lilies, buds, and leaves together with water grass. The shape is so charming, the rope detail, handle and scalloped top make this such a decorative addition to your collection of majolica. The interior has a soft pink glaze. Mark on bottom, incredible condition. Exceptional!
