Exquisite, this Antique Opaline Glass Vase with an intricate painted floral design in enamel is an outstanding example of the artistic enameled glass that was produced in the Bohemian glass houses during the late 18th to 19th centuries. Beautifully decorative, it was painted with great skill, in a rare to find design of fuchsias and other garden delights. Pieces of this quality were made by Harrach and Poschinger.
The background is a stunning soft blue, the flowers were painted in thick impasto enamel colors of white, cream, pink, red, orange and blue, accented with green foliage. A high end luxury version of its kind, with gilt and black details on the foot and neck. There is some wear on the gilt at the opening, it doesn't detract from this museum quality vase. Impressive for your collection, display on your mantel, and wonderful for a bouquet of flowers.
