Rare to find, this Authentic French Bistro Absinthe Tip Plate or soucoupe with a beautiful pink rim and black lettering of 3f. Used in French cafes and bistros, each drink was brought on a saucer printed with an amount owed - as the evening progressed the check or "l'addition" added up. At the end of the evening, the waiter would just add up the saucers to calculate the bill!
This one is extra special, with the pink rim, made by Pillivuyt. Marked with the green 'C.P. & Co., Mehun France' and retailers mark H. Chagney, PARIS. Charles Pillivuyt began his company CP & Co in Mehun, France in 1854.
