Exquisite 19th Century Estate Silver Plate Spoon Warmer in the shape of a Nautilus Sea Shell resting on a bed of sea rocks ending with an ornate shell. Made by William Hutton & Sons, Sheffield, England in the 1800's. Spoon-warmers were filled with boiling water and placed on the sideboard in Victorian dining rooms to keep serving or soup spoons warm until needed.

The body of the shell has decorative bright cut designs of maidenhair ferns. Wonderful to display with your heirloom collection of sterling and quadruple plate Victorian silver, makes an entertaining conversation starter for your best soirees and dinner parties. This one is in incredible condition. Today, this makes a fabulous vase or centerpiece.
