Very early 19th century Antique Dough Bowl or Trencher, hand carved long ago. This one is special because it has all the usage signs we truly adore! There is over 200 years of patina and wear, this was used for quite some time as you can see. In the 1800's these hand carved wooden bowls were originally passed down from mother to daughter and used often since they were the best place to let bread dough rise and rest.
This bowl has aged to perfection, and is wonderful to use as a centerpiece. The measurements are "about" as the bowl is worn and slopes down. Display this as is on your farm table, or standing up so that you can relish the worn thin bottom. Cracked as shown, a delight! Perfectly imperfect, this one is a treasure for your collection, and a charming decorative accent piece for your French Country home.
