19th century French Antique Toy Horse, originally made with natural horse hair and hide. This decorative horse has a wooden hand carved frame covered in burlap and remnants of genuine hide with a real horse tail. Remnants of old paint still reside on the pull cart with its original wheels. This horse was a children's toy, loved and "ridden" by generations of petit French children, and her little ears have worn off. Don't miss this opportunity lifetime to own such an amazing original antique toy. Her name is "Chantilly" after the French town of Chantilly which has been famous since 1834 for horse racing. Worn and shabby though she is, she still wears her faded blue satin ribbon and award pin with pride.
Displays beautifully, a find for your collection of 19th century heirloom children's toys, your equestrian collection - imagine her displayed on an antique dresser surrounded with framed antique equestrian prints. I love her at holiday time wearing a beautiful wreath. Great as a prop, she will make a glorious presentation on a large buffet table during Derby soirees, you will cherish her and pass her on to future generations.
