Beautiful and decorative Antique Woodland Glaze Spatterware Small Pitcher with the tri-colored glaze in green and brown over yellow with a high gloss finish by Morton of Ohio. Such a gorgeous piece, the colors are vivid and clear, the brush spatter design enchanting. After 1930, Morton switched to whiter clay, but I prefer the golden yellow mustard color of these earlier pieces.
Unmarked, as Morton typically did not sign the pottery it produced, as stated in Lisa McAllister’s Collector’s Guide to Yellow Ware Book II. Smaller size, with craquelure you want to see in an antique pottery piece. Perfect to display flowers, serve cream or syrup at the table, or all by itself as part of your collection. A gorgeous work of potter's art.
