Rare French Enameled Mourning Plaque in the form of a heart with a cross at the top. Originally used as a memorial marker, in memoriam for Alfred Adolphe Raday, March, 23, 1930. Beautifully decorative, in a darkened shabby aged cream finish, there are three holes used for attaching this to a gravestone or wooden door.
Worn, shabby and aged as shown, wears its age well and is rusty on the back. Collectible piece of French history, these are wonderful on display with a collection of religious antiques, saints and madonnas, or outdoors in the garden. A wonderful find!
