Beautiful 19th century Greenware Majolica Plate, with a decorative central design of a large and several smaller deep green grape leaves, surrounded by clusters of grapes, strawberry blossoms and strawberries. One of my personal favorites, I always thrill at finding this design. From the estate of a collector, unmarked, this is from the late 1800's and has a bright, fresh green color.
Stilt marks from the original firing on the back as you should find on Majolica of this time period. Marked on the back. This is a fabulous decorative plate to display with your collection of French and English early majolica plates, bowls and platters. This has an under rim chip as shown, the last photo shows a close-up, and also the difference in color between the two strawberry plates. Please only purchase if you love and appreciate old pieces with the grace of time.
