A sparkling Antique Lusterware Oyster Plate hand painted in vibrant Lavender Purple and Pink colors, a rare to find example. The plate has a gorgeous molded design, six wells and a center condiment well. The scallops and center server are trimmed with hand applied gilt. Each oyster bed or well has hand painted soft lavender pink, the shells are surrounded by a dimensional design painted a grey lavender.
Such a decorative plate and very collectable plate in a most desirable color combination and a fabulous addition to your collection. Unmarked, except for the incised numbers 18 and 3329. The majority of these 6 well plates are unmarked according to the Karsnitz book.{p 121-124.} There is wear as shown, the glaze in the middled sections has white showing through, and a small uneven divot to the edge of one scallop, which I forgave it because of the rarity of finding a lustreware plate like this. Please only purchase this plate if you can forgive her that, too.
