Brought to France in the late 1800's from England by a French family, this celery tray has been used for generations for Sunday dinners. Bought in France, beautiful, and quite rare to find, this serving piece is a treasure! The Floribel pattern was designed by the famous William A Adderley factory in Stoke on Trent, in 1876. If you are looking for an unusual, exceptionally visually pleasing serving piece, this is it!
Beautifully decorated with floral motifs, a bee and butterfly, it was transfer printed then hand colored, perfection! As you can see from the photos, there is patina. To find a celery tray like this to match the plates is exciting enough to forgive a little age. Please only purchase this if you adore antiques with the grace of time. {You can cover the plate with hydrogen peroxide and enclose in a plastic bag for several days should you wish to bleach this out.} Set an exceptional table with these plates and the other pieces in this collection.
