Charming Antique Maiden and Cherub Harvest Cake Plate with center transfer of a beautiful young country girl carrying a sheaf of wheat, her scythe, and a few meadow flowers, on the banks of a river with her companion, a darling cherub. They are both cooling their feet in the stream on a hot late summer day.
Most likely made in Austria, the plate is scalloped with gilt trim, and two cut out handles. There is a mark, but it has faded so very much over the century that it's not readable. Loss to the gold here and there, please only purchase these two friends if you love antiques with a past life. This one? Probably displayed with pride, then pressed into service for fancy tea at holiday time, and birthdays.
