Decorative French Platter, with the most charming botanical design in red, just about perfect if you, like me, love antique plates with a quirky personality from France. Made in the mid to late 1800's, by Longwy, it has a stamp for a luxury shop in Paris that sold faience, porcelain and crystal. This large serving platter has been well loved, it has what the French call "a buttered" look, meaning it has some discoloration and craquelure that you want to see on country plates of this age, and one under the rim chip.
The transfer is clear and bright on the creamy white background, it has charming floral branches entwined with scroll work details around the edge. Use this as a display piece on a wall, or serve your world famous apple tarts on this gorgeous round plate. Mixes beautifully with all the other antique transferware you have in your collection. Please only purchase this set if you love antiques with patina and history.Measures 12".
