Extremely rare to find, these very early diminutive French Porcelain Cups were part of a Sevres doll or children's play set. From the late 1700's, early 1800’s, that they have survived at all is a small miracle. Amazing quality, each is hand painted on the most whisper fine quality porcelain. Each has a soft pink ground, and hand painted central design, one a cupid, or cherub, the other a lovely young lady playing her stringed instrument in the garden. The cups have hand applied gold detailing.
How fabulous are these? Coffee can shape, with hand applied gilt surrounds the cartouche with a foliate and floral design. Perfect to add to your luxury Sevres collection, or to really treat your antique French Bebe or bear to. {all the other dolls will be envious!} I am sure at one time they had matching saucers, alas, those have run away. Sold as a set, since they have survived centuries together, they should stay together, n'est pas? Marked with the Sevres mark with an "N" inside.
