Exquisite Bisque Bathing Beauty is a fine example of the bathing belles and lovely ladies made by German half doll makers, they are rare to find with their original pincushion. Made by quality firms such as Galluba and Hofmann, these nude or nearly nude bathers are highly sought after. Made in Germany from the late 1800s through the 1930's. Beautifully modeled from her slender arms and graceful hands to her slim and shapely legs. Her gorgeous face, with hand painted eyes and full softly smiling coral lips, is decorated in the style typical of the era, with one stroke brows, blue eyes outlined in black, she wears a flapper style blue band with a feather.
She wears her original dress, a skimpy net skirt that leaves little to the imagination! Seated on a half moon pin cushion adorned with French lace in cream and lightest blue, the cushion has French pink ribbon with rose rosettes. In very good condition for her age, the laces and fabric in cushion have faded over time, as is to be expected, there is a dark spot, and her arm has a slightly darker line, please see photos for condition. She is a rare treat to add to your collection, or to start one.
