Lovely Ornate Covered Entree Dish, consisting of a dome and underplate, most likely used to serve hot foods at the table, with or without a small porcelain plate inserted. Made by Wm. Rogers, a partnership of William and Simeon Rogers which began in 1841, signed on the bottom. Elegant and refinded, the pattern is etched into the silver, there are exceptional flowers, leaves, fronds and oval cartouches.

There is slight wear and some usage marks, which is to be expected of a piece used and loved for generations. A small vent hole in the cover allows steam to escape.
