Exquisite Antique English Hand Painted Compotes, produced in England in the 1800's. This beautiful pair of servers are first quality porcelain, hand decorated and painted with exceptional skill. The painted centers are similar to work done at Derby Porcelain by fruit and flower painter, John Hancock, Jr. The pieces have wide grey serpentine borders highlighted in gilding, scalloped edges on foot and at the top. Colors of soft French grey, pink, blue, yellow, puple and green, accented with gold.

The centers are painted on a white background with complimentary but different floral bouquets of exceptional detail and quality. This set of two has  amazingly lush realistic botanical decorations, each is a unique work of art. The handles have cutouts and dimensional flowers, leaves and scroll work, detailed with gilt. This set is not only decorative as the pure white background provides decorative contrast but totally practical and usable. They are both marked on the back with the English Royal Warrant purple lion & unicorn {appointed by her Majesty the Queen}. Measure:9~5/8" x 9~1/8" x 2". Sold in a set of two.
