Decorative and quite collectable 19th century English Staffordshire Green Transferware Plate with a charming center scene of two children playing in a lush garden, surrounded by an ornate floral garland border. One child has a pinwheel and the other is chasing a hoop and holding the stick to keep it going. This exquisite scalloped plate was made between 1820 - 1860 by Davenport, of Staffordshire England.
The plate is marked on the back with the pattern name Chinese Pastime, reflecting the love Victorians had for all things Oriental. A stunning addition to your collection, in a gorgeous color green, rare to find green transferware these days!
