Decorative and rare to find collectible "Assiettes Parlantes" {talking plate} featuring heroine and saint Jeanne d'Arc, produced in the 1800's in France. I rarely purchase plates in this condition, these, from a collector's estate, have amazing Blue borders with the leaders of France's military in the 100 years war against the English; Jeanne D'Arc, LaHire, Dunois, and Le Roi Charles VII, as well as cities of Patai & Compiegne {French victories}, Orleans and Reims surrounded by flags, swords and fleur de lis.

Scenes portray Joan presenting her vision to leaders of the Compagnie de Baudricourt, and riding her horse in victory through the streets of Orleans in crisp "fine" Black transfer. A fabulous addition to your collection of French faience story plates, Joan of Arc memorabilia, militaria and a piece of French history. As shown, each of these figural cabinet plates have a fissure on the top, almost in the same place. They are meant to be displayed, only. The collector was so fond of these, they actually had pride of place in his collection. Measure 7~7/8".
