Beautiful, collectible and decorative set of six Blue Transferware Shallow Soup Bowls, made by Clairefontaine, Faience, of France in the late 1800's. The faience factory of Clairefontaine was founded in 1804 by Jean Francos Estienne, they are world renowned for their quailty Majolica, but also for transferware such as this. If you adore French 19th century Transferware, you will love this beautiful set. In good antique condition with a few utensil marks, lovely!

Assiete Cruise means shallow soup bowl, but these are not just for soup. I serve pasta, big salads, fruit and whatever else will fit in each bowl on plates like this to my guests and family. Lovely transfer features a variety of garden flowers including roses around the rim, with a single blooming rose in the center accompanied by two rose buds. A fantastic addition to your collection, or the beginning of one. Set your prettiest tables this season with elegant antique dishes, or display with pride in your hutch.! Each measures 9" x 1~1/2"h.
