Antique French Benitier Holy Water Font Red Velvet Napoleon III

Decorative 19th century French Benitier or Holy Water font, with deep Red velvet backing, the ornate font and crucifix are made of silver plated metal. Heavier in weight than more recent pieces, this has wear and patina, but remains a beautiful addition to your to your collection or religious artifacts and antiques. 

 

Perfect to display with your antique santos and madonna's, there is the wear and patina to the silver, and at one time long ago one arm of the Christ was repaired. INRI plaque over the Christ is intact. Found in France, this was used and loved in a home chapel for devotion. Measures 8~1/2" x 4~3/4" x 2~1/2".
