This decorative Country Cheese Preserver Blue Striped Pottery Crock was used long ago to preserve cheese. The heavy crock has higher parts on the bottom, one would add about 2/3 cups of vinegar and a tablespoon of coarse salt to the bottom. The cheese would sit higher on the partitions, then the crock would be covered with cloth, and placed in the cooling cellar.
In wonderful condition, the four cobalt glazed stripes makes this one so graphic, it will add charm to your traditional French Country or contemporary home. A rare to find addition to your heirloom collection of antique and vintage pottery.
