Large 19th Century American Ironstone or "whiteware" Pitcher made by Sebring Brothers in the late 1880's. Founded in 1887 by the five Sebring brothers, whose pottery was so successful they built a city, Sebring, in Ohio. Avidly collected, their wares included the decorative Tea Leaf pieces, and plain, elegant ironstone like this.

This is a very large pitcher, made to serve in family homes or restaurants and hotels. Heirloom quality, this is in beautiful condition, white, heavy, with the collectible "rope" handle.  There is craquelure and "buttering" {darkening} which you want to see in useful pieces more than 100 years old! This may or may not hold water, the craquelure sometimes allows liquid to seep through. Please insert a glass for water if you will be displaying flowers inside. Marked on the bottom. Wonderful to add to your collection, to display with pride in your home, or as a luxury gift.

  • Measures 9" x 8" x 13"h.
