Antique Cream Princess Lace Shawl covered in lace flowers and feminine delicate vines and tendrils filled with lace leaves. So lovely, romantic lace at its best, this dates to the 1800's, and is truly a work of art. At the end of the 1800's the Belgian royal family granted permission to call this tape lace Princess Lace, also called Royal lace or Imperial lace.
Made by an expert needlewoman, a devoted lace maker of great skill and talent, each flower and foliate detail is perfect. The ribbon is applied on the net by hand with a needle, there are needle-made decorations of the vines and leaves. A lovely collectible piece of lace history, there are breaks in the tulle as shown. I placed lace over black to really show this. Please only buy this beauty if you can live with this, it isn't as noticeable when not over black, priced accordingly. A luxurious addition to your lace collection.
