1870's Wedgwood Bowl is transfer printed in Blue with the pattern Landscape Series, sometimes referred to as the Blue Rose Border. This pattern is beautiful, in lush flow blue coloration. The border design comprises large flowers including peonies, almost botanical specimens in their detail. In the center, a lush scene of boats sailing towards a bay, a large masted boat as well as small water crafts, it is one of the most decorative of the Landscape Series and very collectible.
The base bears an impressed 'WEDGWOOD' mark, along with the impressed initials 'HH'. A small printer's cypher is also visible in blue. Three spur marks can also be seen on the underside of the rim. The printed design is incredibly crisp and detailed. It is an excellent example of transfer printed earthenware and perfect to add to your home decor, your collection of Antique Blue and White plates. Display on a stand, or hang on the wall, fill it with shells on your cocktail table. Measures 9~3/4" x 1~1/2"h.
