Exquisite Antique French Tiara Crown Napoleon III Fleur de Lis Virgin Santos Crown with Pink Rhinestones. Stunning large size, it was certainly destined for an important statue within a large cathedral, the head of a nearly life-sized religious statue. Santos or Madonna crowns are becoming increasingly hard to find, to find one with pink stones is so rare.
Beautiful ormolu repousse, with stunning scrollwork and Fleur de Lis ornamentation. Prong-set Pink cut glass jewels glitter and shine throughout this beauty. To find a glorious example such as this is rare, it's an exceptional decorative work with a noble history. Of note: at one time the top Fleur de Lis was soldered back on, slight darkening as shown. Pink is an extremely rare and collectible color, {most antique crowns have clear, red and green or blue stones} and highly desirable.
Rarely seen ornamenting statues today in churches across France, each surviving crown is a special part of French history, especially beloved by collectors.
