Antique Mid 1800's Vieux Paris Porcelain Madonna, most likely sold at a French Cathedral as a souvenir. Rare to find in this larger size, the Holy Mother is not perfect, all her gilt hand painted details have worn away over the centuries, and long ago the tips her hands somehow went missing. Her rarity, and overall beauty makes up for this, but please only purchase her if you love storied antiques.
Beautiful details and facial expression, her flowing gown is lovely, her attached foot or stand is ornate and has her monogram on the front. She makes quite a statement when displayed in your home, as part of your religious collection, or surrounded by candles and flowers as befitting to the mother of Christ. Small imperfections and time worn marks are part of what makes her authentic and special.
