Antique French Country Earthenware Olive Oil Pitcher, hand made in the late 19th century. Made by a village potter long ago, it has a ribbed exterior, and isn't quite what an accomplished "big city" potter would have produced, I love that about this piece. There are glazing irregularities, a little extra clay here and there, perfectly imperfect!
Used in a country home, this pottery has everything we love about the antique French pottery pieces, utilitarian shape, lovely caramel colored glazing that was obviously hand applied. Chips, wear, and patina as shown. Lovely to add to your collection of antique French Country stoneware.
