Antique French Stoneware Ink Pot, a wonderful color, with a black transfer. The pot dates to the late 1800's, when ink was sold in little bottles like this with a cork top, which would then be closed with wax to keep the ink in the bottle until it was needed.
The permanent transfer has been applied by a French artist, it advertises Mme. Boileve. A charming little pot to add to your collection, it looks very charming with your antique French Country pottery, with a few flowers in it, or feathers.
