Antique Hand Painted Figural Coffee Shop Bin, gorgeous and so rare to find. From the 19th century, the central portrait is exceptional. Made of black enameled metal, probably tin, with red and green sides. Bins like this were used in shops to store coffee, tea, flour and other dry goods that the grocer would scoop into a bag and weigh for customers.
This piece makes a statement, the painting is of high quality. The knob has been replaced at one time, I don't believe it's the original knob. The top lid is hinged to open upwards. There is the aging, paint loss as shown and as you would expect for a hard working Victorian shop piece - what we love!
