Antique Silver Plate English Tea Caddy, with a lovely engraved flower garland design and lion handles. Marks for Barker Brothers of Birmingham, established in 1801, this dates to the early 1900's. This is a smaller size, for very dainty lady like thin biscuits or perhaps chocolates?
The lid closes with a hinge, which operates well. The finial is firmly attached, this came from a silver collector, it is in wonderful condition. The Regency lion and ring handles always add such a decorative detail. This beautiful box has so many uses, other than for sweets, use it for tea, for hiding your nightly candy on your night stand.
