Antique Flow Mulberry Black Pearlware Plates and Platter, made in the mid 1800's by Podmore Walker & Co. who began their business in 1834 in Staffordshire, England. The Podmore & Walker partnership was expanded to include Enoch Wedgwood, and in 1860 renamed their company Wedgwood & Co.
This classic Chinoiserie pattern has a floral border around the pagoda and water central scene. The plates and platter are decorated with a flow black transfer design, now often called mulberry. There is craquelure as is to be expected of pieces of this age, considered in wonderful condition. You can see the kiln stand indentions on each piece as you should, marked on the bottom. A beautiful set to display with pride, or to serve your world-famous dinners on!
