Amazing in size and condition, this Antique Blue and White Floral Ironstone Bucket is stunning! This wonderful ironstone pail or bucket was used in the mid to late 1800's for disposing "waste" water after bathing when plumbing and bathrooms were rare. I can't imagine how heavy this was when filled with water, a metal or wicker wrapped handle was attached for carrying by maids up and down narrow stairs.
This is such a lovely example with the aesthetic movement floral design in blue transfer. Pieces like this are cherished by collectors for their size and beauty, used today as wine and champagne coolers, holds at least three bottles. It's large imposing size makes it a fabulous addition to your collection. Makes an unusual cachepot for a favorite plant, a great holder for all your antique cooking utensils near your stove, a place for rolled towels in your guest bath.
