1840's Black Transfer Covered Pot with Lion Handles with an elegant shape, each side features a different landscape withan old castle and church. Made by Schramberg in the early 1800's, the pottery was established in 1820, and production was started in the Schramberg castle. The pot is marked with an impressed mark on the bottom.
The lid has a beautiful circular design of flowers, with a floral design on the very top of the knob. These covered pots are so rare to find, as a much used item for daily mealtimes, usually I find them without their lid, or with a repaired lid. This one is a treasure!
