Exceptional Antique Quadruple Plated Silver Butter Dish with the most gorgeous cherub detail inside the bowl. Complete with the glass liner for the butter to rest on {ice chips fit in the bowl underneath} this was used to served butter at the table. One of the most beautiful examples I’ve found, stunning floral embossing around the sides, made by Wilcox in the late 1800’s.
In good condition, comes with a mother of Pearl small butter knife as shown. The knife fits in the holder, over the last century one end of the holder has been closed a bit tighter. Has some aging, this was used, but no plate wear that I can see. There is a small indention on the very top. A true beauty, add this to your collection and hoping you use it at your gracious table.
