Exceptional and so decorative Antique French Provincial Quilt Boutis Pique with a stunning acorn fabric, from the 19th Century. Two sided, with different floral fabric on each side dating to the mid and late 1800's, hand stitched with cotton batting. These are getting more rare to find in any kind of condition, this one has the most beautiful colors, and no holes or shredding to the edges as is so often found. One side has creams, browns and red with striped design featuring acorns and branches, the other side is a soft cream with pastel florals and leaves with reds and browns mixed in.
It looks wonderful on our Queen sized bed. This is a rare & beautiful quilt, with history, it is perfection for autumn. It has been washed, there are areas of aging or what they call "shading" {which means it has some darkening that hasn't completely been removed} so please only buy her if you love the grace of time on your antique textiles.
