Petite Round Antique French Picture Frame Gilt Brass with Bow Filigree, in Empire style with a beautiful bow & laurel leaf crown. Four decorative ornate details embellish the natural wood mat. Made of gilded bronze, the gold has mellowed over the centuries.
The wood has darkened, I have left this as is, often dealers will paint the wood a color, but I love the unusual effect of the dark wood with the gleaming metal. Has a fabric covered easel and a hanging bale too.
