Captivating Antique Hand Painted French Limoges Plates in Lavender - a set of 4. The time consuming detail and passion that went into the creation of these treasures is exceptional. The ornate rococo blanks are marked "VF Limoges, France" with the underglaze green mark for the maker of the blanks. These were made expressly for the Higgins & Seiter Co. of New York, a luxury shop selling only the best tableware in the 1880's.
Hand painted a rare soft lavender purple, accented with gilt embellishments, and hand enameled floral bouquets. Can I say divine? The center is a mat porcelain, creme de la creme quality. A set of four, some gilt wear to rims as to be expected, one has an under-edge chip which I forgave since this is such a rare set to find.
