Beautiful Antique French Shell Work Souvenir Box covered with shells both large and small on the lid and around the bottom. A variety of shells were used to create the artwork, it's rare to find these collectable boxes with almost all the shells intact, I see just one tiny shell missing. The box is covered with cobalt blue paper with a light blue lining inside.
Fantastic detailed design, this treasure has two large pearlized shells on the top. Inside, there is a "scrap" of a sail boat glued to the lid on the light blue paper. A wonderful addition to add to your collection of French shell antiques and sailor's valentines.
