Single 19th Century English Staffordshire Pearlware Pottery Spaniel Dog, this decorative charmer dates to the 1840's as evidenced by her modeled back. Spaniels were favored as pets by English royalty, in particular by Queen Victoria.  Staffordshire pottery spaniels were avidly collected {still are!} and beloved, in the mid to late 1800's any luxury class home would have these displayed on mantels throughout their homes.

This is a cream-white single. An early piece, she was never painted, perhaps because she has a tiny hole by one ear, she is not perfect. Someone saved her and kept her safe all these years. She has the wear you would expect to find on pottery of this age. Firing hole is on her back. She is ready to be adopted!
