Antique Metal Servant’s Hot Water Can with its original paint, hand crafted by B & B W & Sons, of London, England. The firm was established in 1836 as an ironmongery. Shaped like a watering can, this was actually a copper bottomed vessel made for domestic use in affluent Victorian English homes. Servants transported boiling hot water in this to the master's bedroom for bathing.
The can is ergonomically well constructed, with a carrying handle and pouring handle. The spout is well made, the can was hand made and welded by the well known firm. The hinged lid opens for adding hot water from a bigger pot from cook's stove. Quite rare to find one of these with its original mustard golden brown paint, the bottom has the mark of the maker. LOVE this one, an exceptional find.
