Exceptional Antique Appenzell Embroidery Placemats in a set of 12, oh my, these are so glorious! Superb Swiss embroidery, all done by hand, with the most exquisite floral garlands around the pristine white linen centers. The scalloped edges have that incredible pierce work that the master embroiderers of the Appenzell region were world-famous for.
The shorter sides feature a, elaborate cameo of a floral bouquet, little flowers dance around the perimeter of the mats. Superb hand work, fine and beautiful. Hand laundered, these are in excellent condition, of note a few minor specs, one has a tiny spot. Minor, these look stunning.
