Beautiful Antique French Limoges Hand Painted Small Plate with Forget-me-not Flowers, made by Haviland et CIE, Limoges, France, in the early 1900's. A collectible delight, painted with great care by an American porcelain artist for White's Art Co of Chicago. A family business of three sisters, Ida, Sarah and Ellen, began in 1914 and continued until 1923. Identified as "china decorators", their business was largely teaching students so it's rare to find a plate painted by them, few examples bearing their red mark survived. They were in competition with the best decorators of the era, Pickard, Stouffer, Brauer, etc. and had several of Pickard's artists work for them for a time.
This plate is painted with precious Blue Forget-me-not flowers with green foliage on the wonderful soft cream, pink and yellow background. Finished in gold gilt around the rim. A luxury addition to your collection, to use and treasure and pass down to the next generation.
