Antique 19th Century Hand Painted Chippendale Tole Tray with Rose and floral bouquet on a rarer small scalloped Chippendale metal shape. This 1800's serving tray features beautiful decorative flowers in the center. The border is decorated in a ornate gilt painted design, so charming. The flowers include a cream pink rose, little primulas, and a dark cream garden flower with plenty of leaves and buds.
Over the last century the paint has "alligatored" which is not uncommon in the early trays. A fabulous addition to your collection of French, English and American antique tole trays. I have upped the contrast a little so you can see the details, the tray is a little darker. Small losses here and there, as shown. Displays beautifully.
