Beautiful, this Antique Transfer Cheese Keeper was made by Masons, of Fenton, England. This is a particular favorite of mine, because of the gorgeous colors, it is called "burgundy" although it has rich jewel tones of gold, green and brown, along with the deep wine color.
To keep cheese fresh and delicious at the table, the lid is in the shape of a wedge of cheese. Has patina and craquelure as shown, in wonderful condition. The colored version of this hand painted transfer design is rare to find, and a fantastic addition to your collection of antique transfer ware.
