Fantastic collectible French Stoneware Match Striker, called a "pyrogen" in French. Pyrogen were found on all tables of French cafes until about 1930. This French match striker or holder is white with aqua green trim. The top has the traditional ribbed threaded sides for striking non-safety matches.
The match striker is not marked, the bottom has a striking paper glued down for convenience by a past owner. These are getting more rare to find, prized by collectors, will light up your kitchen, bar or your own bistro with its presence.
